The Harbour Clinic
What is the Harbour?
The Harbour is a novel outpatient eating disorders program providing accessible, interdisciplinary care for post-secondary students. Founded by the Eating Disorders Foundation of Canada (EDFC), The Harbour offers evidence-based treatment and support in a welcoming, community-based environment.
Through its partnership with Western University and Fanshawe College, The Harbour aims to support students with eating disorders in a comprehensive program tailored to students.
The Harbour treatment program is designed to:
- Fit within student schedules and environments
- Provide coordinated care across disciplines
- Address academic, social, and mental health challenges
- Reduce barriers to access and wait times
There is currently no established inter-professional care models designed specifically for emerging adults (ages 16–25) in post-secondary settings. Students often experience delays in care, fragmented services, and limited support during a critical developmental transition. The Harbour Clinic was created in order to fill this gap.
